There’s no better way to start your weekend than with a hearty full English breakfast. But when it comes to the perfect full English, we think we've got it nailed. The Cotswolds offers some of the finest, locally grown and produced ingredients for the ultimate breakfast to get you fuelled up for a big day.
1. Free Range Cotswold Eggs
The star of any breakfast plate. These eggs are rich in flavour, with deep orange yolks which are perfect for frying, poaching or scrambling.
And not only do they taste amazing, these free range hens have 15 acres of lush Cotswold grass fields to roam and are RSPCA Freedom Food accredited, which means there are regular inspections to ensure the hens are all kept to strict RSPCA welfare standards. Happy Chickens. Happy eggs.
2. MOR Sourdough
A full English isn't complete without hot, buttery toast and we think MOR Bakery's sourdough is the perfect loaf.
Locally sourced produce isn't just about food miles for us. It's about supporting good farmers with good practices. MOR get their flour from Bruern Farms who are committed to using sustainable methods to protect and enrich the land for future generations... and we think you can taste the difference.
3. David Moore's Family Butchers
Whether you're team bacon or team sausages (we're team both!), David Moore's commitment to top quality cuts means it's the only meat we're putting on our plates!
Their free-range sausages are made on site and we can't get enough of their smoked, streaky bacon.
4. Potatoes
We'll be honest, this one's a bit of an indulgence but if you've got time, crispy fried potatoes or homemade hash browns will give your fry up legendary status amongst your pals - especially when you've got a big day ahead!
5. The Veg
You didn't think we were going to forget about the veg did you?!
A biased opinion but we like our plates bursting with the good stuff. Grilled tomatoes, sautéed spinach and fried mushrooms are non-negotiable, bringing colour and texture, resulting in a well-balanced breakfast.
