Learn here how to get the perfect crunch to accompany the rest of your veggies!
The roast potato. It's the cornerstone of every roast. The key to having a beautiful Sunday dinner.
Here's our tips on how to make the perfect roasties this Sunday.
The Ingredients
Maris Piper Potatoes
R-Oil Organic Rapeseed Oil
Salt & Pepper
Top tip - if you think you've peeled enough spuds, add a couple more, these roasties are great as an evening snack, dunked in leftover gravy!
The Method
Peel your potatoes and chop into roastie-sized chunks. Place them into a pan of cold water and bring to the boil. Simmer for 10/15 minutes until the edges are cooked but the potato isn't completely cooked all the way through. Strain and leave aside in the colander for a few minutes to let off some steam. Jiggle the potatoes around in the colander so the edges of the potatoes fluff-up and season with salt and pepper.
While the spuds are resting, add some R-Oil to your roasting dish and put it in the oven at a high temperature (220ish). Once the oil is hot, add your potatoes and cook on high for 15/20 minutes.
Turn the oven down to the temperature you need to cook your roasting joint and continue to cook the potatoes with whatever else is in the oven.
You'll end up with beautiful, crispy roast potatoes!
